A Baltimore police spokesman told the Associated Press that an officer had suffered minor injuries in the waning hours of the Freddie Gray demonstrations on Saturday.
According to the AP, the officer was injured near a police station where three dozen police officers in riot helmets and shields were lined up. The crowd was sparse after the day's protests, but some people were throwing items at the officers.
The injury occurred after a day of protests, including some that became violent at times. AP reported that least five officers were injured.
The demonstrators are upset over the death of Gray, who was arrested on April 12 and died a week later after suffering an in-custody spinal injury.
