MLK parade to cause road closures, parking restrictions Monday

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade will cause road closures and parking restrictions in Baltimore on Monday, particularly along the corridor named for the civil rights pioneer.

Commuters on Monday, which is a holiday in honor of King, should expect delays, the Baltimore Department of Transportation said. Vehicles that park in restricted zones will be ticketed and towed.

People attending the 15th annual parade, which runs from noon to 1 p.m., are encouraged to arrive early and park in parking facilities in "surrounding areas," including downtown.

The parade begins at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Eutaw Street, and runs south along the boulevard to Baltimore Street, where it will conclude.
