Baltimore soldier who went missing in Korean War to be buried at Arlington

The remains of a soldier from Baltimore who went missing during the Korean War and was declared dead in 1953 have been identified and he is to be buried at Arlington Cemetery with military honors on Friday.

Cpl. David J. Wishon Jr. was assigned to a medical unit in the 7th Infantry Division when he went missing after an attack on Dec. 1, 1950, the Department of Defense said.

Wishon was identified using detective work and two different forms of DNA analysis that matched back to his sisters.

There are still some 7,819 Americas unaccounted for from the Korean War, the Defense Department said.
