Three light rail stations will be closed for 10 days later this month for repairs to a track crossing at the edge of Hampden, forcing riders to connect with stations north of the city by bus, according to the Maryland Transit Administration.
The system's Mt. Washington, Cold Spring and Woodberry stations will be closed from March 14 to March 24 to allow for track crossing improvements at the intersection of Union Avenue and Clipper Mill Road.
Buses will operate between the Falls Road and North Avenue stations, which are north and south of the effected area, respectively.
During the closure, trains north of Falls Road will operate every 15 minutes during peak periods. Schedules south of the North Avenue station will not be changed.
The work will involve the removal and replacement of 475 feet of ballasted track, the MTA said, including 70 tons of ballast and stone, 120 concrete rail ties and more than 950 feet of rail.
