Baltimore police are investigating a homicide following a home invasion that occurred early Friday on the 900 block of Allendale Street in Edmondson Village.
Officers responded to a call at about 12:25 a.m., and found a 42-year-old woman outside the home with a gunshot wound to the neck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said they believe the incident is believed may be drug related. They said a preliminary investigation suggests several males entered the home demanding drugs and money, and the woman was shot as she attempted to flee. The house was ransacked, police said.
