Gobble Cobble run in Harbor East, Y Turkey Trots throughout the region

Some roads in downtown Baltimore will be affected Thanksgiving morning when the Gobble Cobble Turkey Trot steps off at about 8:30 a.m.

The 4.5 mile race through the cobblestone streets of Fells Point starts at the The Mac Harbor East, 655 President St.

According to race organizers, the route winds down Lancaster Street into Fells Point, then follows the Fells Point waterfront "on old cobble stone roads filled with trolley tracks, missing cobblestones, and sunken portions of roadway."

The run is among several taking place in and around the baltimore area on Thanksgiving morning. The Y of Central Maryland is hosting races trhoughout the region, with Turkey Trots in Bel Air, Westminster, Ellicott City, Arnold, Towson and Baltimore City. The city run was set to take off from Druid Hill.

In addition, the 31st annual Green Valley North Turkey Trot to benefit Crohn's & Colitis Research is taking place in the Greenspring Valley area.
