Baltimore residents can drop their Christmas trees off for mulching beginning on Jan. 3, the city's Department of Public Works announced Friday.
The service will be offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Saturday at the Southwest Citizens' Convenience Center, 701 Reedbird Ave. Mulching will be provided through Jan. 31.
Residents should bring their own bags or containers if they wish to collect the mulch for their own use. Community groups are invited to bring bags or containers to collect free mulch to use at neighborhood gardens.
Ornaments and tinsel must be removed.
Tree collection for residents begins Monday. Trees should be left during regularly scheduled trash collection days. Collection will continue through Jan. 30.
