City fire academy receives beam from World Trade Center

A section of I-beam salvaged from the remains of the World Trade Center after the attacks on September 11, 2001 will be placed in the auditorium where Baltimore fire trainees gather daily. The two-ton segment will become part of a permanent memorial as part of a $9.5 million renovation of the training center campus. (Liz F. Kay, Baltimore Sun)
