Man fatally shot Thursday night in southwest Baltimore

A 44-year-old man was fatally shot Thursday night in southwest Baltimore, police said.

Police found the man, who has not been identified, at about 9:40 p.m. in the 2600 block of West Fairmount Avenue in the Shipley Hill neighborhood. He was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body.

He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
