A man was shot multiple times Sunday morning within earshot of a police officer in Northwest Baltimore's Howard Park neighborhood, the fourth shooting in that neighborhood in less than a week.
The officer was patrolling in the 4900 block of Liberty Heights Avenue around 2:30 a.m. when he heard multiple gunshots, police said. Shortly after, a 31-year-old man emerged from an alley and told the officer he had been shot.
The victim, who was shot multiple times, was in serious but stable condition at a hospital. Anyone with information is asked to call 410-396-2221 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
It's been a violent week in Howard Park. On Tuesday night, Carlos Younger, 24, was killed in the West Baltimore neighborhood. On Thursday night, two men — Maurice "Mookie" Braham and Anthony Hornes — were killed within hours and blocks of each other there.
