One killed, two injured in city shootings Tuesday

Two men were shot six blocks apart in Baltimore's Broadway East neighborhood Tuesday, police said.

A man was killed in Northwest Baltimore, and two others were injured in shootings six blocks apart on the city's east side Tuesday, police said.

A 21-year-old man died after being shot in the groin about 8 p.m. in the 4000 block of Pinkney Road in the Glen neighborhood, police said. He was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. His identity was not released as of Tuesday night. Homicide detectives are investigating.

In Broadway East, a 21-year-old was shot in the head about 5:10 p.m. in the 1500 block of Rutland Ave., near Rutland Elementary School, police said. He was taken to a hospital, and his condition was not released. Due to the severity of his injuries, homicide detectives are investigating.

About three hours earlier, a 37-year-old man was shot in the stomach on the northeast end of the same neighborhood, police said.

Officers heard gunshots around E. North Avenue and N. Gay Street and found the victim, who told them he was shot just around the corner, in the 1800 block of N. Port St., police said. Eastern District detectives are investigating.
