City police investigate two early morning shootings Friday

Baltimore police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred early Friday morning.

Officers were called at 5 a.m. to the 600 block of Laurens Street in the Upton neighborhood for a report of a shooting, where they found a man who had been shot in the stomach. He was taken to an area hospital.

Police have not yet determined a motive. Central District Detectives are investigating, and request that anyone with information call 410-396-2411.

About four hours earlier, officers were called to the 1800 block of N. Spring Street in the Oliver community for a shooting. They found a man with a gunshot wound to his neck. He was also taken to an area hospital.

The motive for the shooting also remains unclear. Eastern District Detectives are investigating and anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call them 410-396-2433.
