"All parties involved in this incident knew each other," Sgt. Eric Kowalczyk, a police spokesman, wrote in an email. "This homicide is not believed to [have been] retaliatory or related to the recent levels of violence."

Kowalczyk added that the homicide was not believed to have been gang-related. As of Sunday, police had not provided any updates as to whether an arrest had been made.

Court records indicate Rodriguez had previous convictions for drug possession and possession with intent to distribute.

Police also said a woman walked into a Baltimore hospital overnight with a gunshot wound to her leg that was not believed to be life-threatening, and detectives were working to determine where the shooting happened.
