Police released the names Tuesday of six men shot to death during Baltimore's bloody weekend.

Police also announced a shooting that occurred Monday night in the 3000 block of E. Fayette St. The man, who was not identified, was taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said. They did not provide his condition. Police do not release the names of victims in nonfatal shootings.


Twenty-six people were shot in the city between Friday and Monday, police said, 11 of them fatally.

Police said Monday that a woman shot in a double shooting in the 2400 block of E. Eager St. had died from her injuries. However, they said Tuesday that she was still alive and being treated.

As of Tuesday evening, there were 23 homicides in July, putting the city on pace to eclipse the 42 killings in May — the deadliest month since 1990.

The dead included Ronald Davon Penn, 30, who was shot Monday afternoon in the 3400 block of Ardenas Ave.

Penn's grandmother arrived at the scene soon after the shooting. "We don't come from a violent family, but this is everyday life," Verna Strawder, 71, said as she waited to speak to a detective. "The police can't do but so much."

Penn's last known address was in the 3200 block of Ramona Ave., police said.

A man who was shot in the head and hand in the 3400 block of Chesterfield Ave. on Thursday was identified as Steven Justice Lewis, 30. Lewis, who was pronounced dead Sunday, lived one block away from Penn in the 3300 block of Ramona Ave., police said.

Police are looking into whether there is a connection between the killings, Detective Jeremy Silbert said.

Police also released the names of two men killed on Saturday and two killed on Friday.

A man shot in the neck in the 2400 block of E. Eager St. on Saturday was identified as Frederick Samuel Taylor, 32, of the 800 block of E. Eager St.

A man who was shot multiple times in the back in the 1800 block of E. Federal St. on Saturday was identified as Marvin Coston Jr., 28, of the same block, police said.

James Ricardo Smith, 38, of the 2800 block of Boarman Ave. was shot in the head and body in the 4300 block of Wabash Ave. on Friday, police said. Police had previously said the victim in the shooting was 18.

Dante Barnes, 39, was shot in the head in the 2600 block of Boone St. on Friday, police said. He lived in that block.
