Man, 38, dies after shooting at NW Baltimore bus stop

A man standing at a bus stop in NW Baltimore was shot.

A 38-year-old man who was shot multiple times in Northwest Baltimore on Tuesday night has died from his injuries, police said Wednesday.

The man, whose name police did not immediately release, became Baltimore's 296th homicide victim of 2015. The city is on pace to surpass 300 homicides this year for the first time since 1999.

Witnesses told police the victim was standing near the bus stop in the 5200 block of Windsor Mill Road in the Windsor Hill neighborhood about 8:40 p.m. when at least one gunman fired at him from across the street.

Police said he had his hands up. They say the gunman walked up, stood over him and shot him several more times before fleeing, police said.

The victim was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, police said. He died there Wednesday.

The killing was the second on that block of Windsor Mill Road this year. Brian Johnson was shot to death there Sept. 29.

Police have no information on a motive or the killers' identities. Homicide detectives are investigating.

They asked anyone with information to call the Metro Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
