Two shot, one dead, in Baltimore Sunday night

Two men were shot, one fatally, in Baltimore Sunday night, police said.

A man was shot in the chest at about 9 p.m. in the 1100 block of N. Longwood St. in Southwest Baltimore's Franklintown Road neighborhood, police said. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died, police said.

Homicide detectives at the scene peered around the porch of the home where the shooting took place, and a motor scooter was parked next to the sidewalk, where several evidence markers were laid from the street to the front stoop of the home.

In the other shooting, a man was shot in the hand at about 7:16 p.m. in the 3500 block of Dolfield Ave. in Ashburton on the city's northwest side, police said.

Northwest District detectives were investigating, and anyone with information may call 410-396-2466.

The shootings Sunday night followed three on Saturday one of them also in Northwest Baltimore, in the Woodmere neighborhood.
