Two shot in West Baltimore

Two men were shot in separate incidents in West Baltimore Thursday night, police said.

In the first, a 48-year-old man was shot several times in a car in West Baltimore's Poppleton neighborhood Thursday night, police said.

Police, called at 8:48 p.m., found the victim shot through the windshield of the silver Buick, parked in the 800 block of W. Mulberry Street near the intersection with Poppleton Street.

He was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said. Because of the seriousness of his injuries, homicide detectives were investigating.

Police released no information on any suspect or motive in the shooting. Anyone with information may call 410-396-2100.

In the second incident, a man was shot in the leg in the 1600 block of Baker St. Few details were immediately released.

Western District detectives are investigating, and anyone with information may call 410-396-2477.
