Body found in street closes Baltimore school

A school in South Baltimore is closed to students Monday after a body was found in the street nearby.

Around 6:30 a.m. Monday, Baltimore City Schools tweeted that Curtis Bay Elementary/Middle School was closed for police activity in the area. Staff reported to Lake Clifton High School, according to officials.

Police responded to the 4300 block of West Bay Ave. in the Brooklyn neighborhood around 4:45 a.m. where a man was found lying in the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Neither the victim nor the cause of death were identified Monday. Anyone with information may contact homicide detectives at 410-396-2011.
