A Caribbean restaurant in Seton Hill caught fire Monday morning, according to the Baltimore Fire Department.
Culture Caribbean Cuisine at 512 Pennsylvania Ave. caught fire briefly Monday morning, fire spokeswoman Blair Skinner said.
The fire department responded to a call at the three-story building for a fire on the first floor and smoke on the third floor. The first floor houses the restaurant, and there are residences on the second and third floors, Skinner said.
Fire engines were dispatched to the scene at 10:17 a.m., and the flames were under control by 10:30 a.m., Skinner said.
No one was injured in the fire, and the cause is under investigation, she said.
It was unclear whether Culture Caribbean Cuisine would reopen Monday; the owner could not immediately be reached for comment. But it appears the eatery also has a new location in the works. A June 17 post on the restaurant’s Facebook page indicates a downtown Baltimore location in the Inner Harbor is “coming soon.”
