The paychecks for Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, City Council President Bernard C. "Jack" Young and other city elected officials are getting a little heavier.
Under city law, elected officials get a 2.5 percent annual raise if workers in at least one city union receive a pay increase. This year, most city workers got a 2 percent raise in Baltimore's budget.
As a result, Rawlings-Blake's salary increases from $163,000 to $167,000, effective in January. Young's pay rises from $108,000 to $110,000, the same as Comptroller Joan Pratt's.
City Council Vice President Edward Reisinger's salary increases from $69,000 to $71,000. The other 13 City Council members' salaries rise from $62,000 to $64,000.
