Mayor, other city officials to receive raises in new year

The paychecks for Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, City Council President Bernard C. "Jack" Young and other city elected officials are getting a little heavier.

Under city law, elected officials get a 2.5 percent annual raise if workers in at least one city union receive a pay increase. This year, most city workers got a 2 percent raise in Baltimore's budget.
