$2M Powerball ticket purchased in Hampden

The lucky winner of a $2 million Powerball prize bought their ticket at a liquor story on The Avenue in Hampden, state lottery officials said.

The second-tier winning ticket was purchased for Wednesday night's drawing at Keller's Liquors on West 36th Street. The winner has not yet come forward but has 182 days to claim their prize.

"They usually come pretty quickly," said lottery spokeswoman Carole Everett.

The ticket is worth $2 million because the player chose the Power Play option, which cost the winner an extra dollar, she said. The prize would have been worth $1 million without the Power Play option.

Keller's will also get a $5,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
