A series of community meetings are planned to solicit input on a plan for Baltimore's public pools and year-round aquatics programming.
The city Department of Recreation and Parks' "Dive In, Baltimore!" — a decade-long plan to upgrade the city's aquatic facilities — calls for a mix of eight outdoor pools, between eight and 17 spray pads and five to eight indoor pools.
A meeting will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday at the Coldstream Recreation Center, 1401 Fillmore St.
Other meetings are scheduled for Sept. 5 at St Luke's Church, 217 N. Carey St; Sept. 10 at Walter P. Carter Recreation Center, 820 E. 43rd St.; Sept. 12 at Liberty Recreation Center, 3901 Maine Ave.; Sept. 17 at Rita Church Community Center, 2101 Saint Lo Dr.; and Sept. 30 at the rec department headquarters, 3001 East Dr. All meetings are between 6:30-8 p.m.
The city currently has 19 park and neighborhood pools, five wading pools, two spray pads and three indoor pools.
