The front porch of an East Baltimore home was destroyed Thursday evening after a man sped off from a traffic stop and crashed into another car, police said.
Police pulled over a vehicle in the 2700 block of St. Lo Drive in Clifton Park for a broken tail light, said Detective Nicole Monroe, a police spokeswoman. The car parked but then pulled off during the stop, she said, and police pursued the vehicle.
The vehicle crashed into another car at the intersection of E. 20th and N. Washington streets, Monroe said. The crashed cars then hit a nearby front porch.
The driver of the vehicle got out of the car after the crash and ran from police, she said. He was caught and taken into custody.
Marijuana was found during the investigation, Monroe said. No police vehicles were involved in the crash and no officers were hurt.
The driver has been charged with drug and traffic violations, she said.
