Baltimore City police have identified a man who died after he was shot multiple times Thursday afternoon in the Pen Lucy neighborhood in North Baltimore.

Hopkins had been convicted in February on attempted second-degree murder charges from 2008, and received 30 years in prison, court records show. But 27 years of that sentence was suspended, giving him essentially time served.

According to police, officers responded at 4:28 p.m. to a call about a shooting in the 4200 block of Old York Road. They found Hopkins in the 500 block of E. 43rd St., with several gunshot wounds. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not made any arrests in connection with the shooting and are continuing to investigate.

There has been one other homicide in the Pen Lucy neighborhood in the past six months, the June 14 killing of Angelo Maurice Winston in the 600 block of Dumbarton Ave., three blocks south of Thursday's shooting death.
