Man shot in arm is Baltimore's 94th nonfatal shooting victim in May

A man was shot in the arm in Northwest Baltimore Thursday night — the 94th nonfatal shooting in one of the most violent months in the city in decades.

Thirty-eight people have been killed in Baltimore in May, including a woman and 8-year-old boy who were found shot to death Thursday morning. The city hasn't had a deadlier month since August 1996, in which 39 people were killed.

In the shooting Thursday, officers were called at 8:07 p.m. to the in the 3700 block of W. Belvedere Ave. in Arlington, where they found the man with a bullet wound to the arm, police said. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police reported earlier Thursday two nonfatal shootings that occurred Wednesday night.

At 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, police found a 27-year-old man in the 3600 block of Clifton Ave. suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to the hospital, where he was in critical condition, police said.

Another man walked into a city hospital after being shot in the torso at about 9:42 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Rose St., police said.
