Two people were injured, one of them critically, in a crash on North Avenue in Baltimore’s Reservoir Hill neighborhood on Monday, officials said.
Firefighters had to extricate one of the drivers from a car after the noon crash, according to police and fire department officials.
The driver was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in critical condition; the other driver had non-life-threatening injuries, said detective Nicole Monroe, a Baltimore Police spokeswoman.
Neither driver’s name was released, and it is unclear what caused the crash or whether anyone else was involved. Police are investigating.
North Avenue, a major east-west Baltimore thoroughfare, was closed for part of the afternoon as police and firefighters responded to the scene.
