A new suitor has joined Barb the Peregrine Falcon in her nest atop Baltimore’s TransAmerica skyscraper.
Boh, her previous beau, “disappeared from the nest in late April for unknown reasons,” after Barb laid four eggs and two hatched, according to the Chesapeake Conservancy, which has a livestream of the nest and posts occasional updates on its website.
The new suitor, whom some viewers have dubbed “Nubo,” has been courting Barb in the month since, bringing prey to her and the two eyasses, or baby falcons.
“We do not know what happened to original Boh,” the conservancy wrote in an update earlier this month.
But the new male will be taking up the missing bird’s mantle.
“For purposes of promotion of this cam,” the organization wrote, “the couple will carry on with the names ‘Barb & Boh.’”
