A person was fatally crushed under a piece of heavy machinery in the West Fayette Street office building that houses the Department of Juvenile Services Friday afternoon, a city fire spokesman said.
"There was some sort of heavy machinery that fell on someone," around 2:30 p.m. said fire spokesman Capt. Roman Clark. He did not immediately have additional details on the accident.
DJS spokesman Eric D. Solomon said the victim was not a DJS employee.
A call to the building's management company, Artemis Properties, Inc. was not immediately returned.
