Track maintenance to suspend some service along Baltimore light rail

Light rail service between the North Avenue and Camden stations in Baltimore will be suspended in both directions over the weekend for track maintenance.

The Maryland Transit Administration will replace rails and make other repairs with the shutdown beginning at 6 p.m. Friday and ending at 4 a.m. Monday. There will be no light rail service to Penn Station.

Free shuttle bus service will be provided for passengers between North Avenue and Camden Yards, including Penn Station. The buses will run at 10-, 20- and 30-minute intervals based on the time of day. Ambassadors will help direct passengers shuttle bus boarding areas.

"This track work will increase the safety, efficiency and reliability of our Light RailLink system," he said. "Customer safety is always our No. 1 priority."
