Hot dog carts and ice cream stands, perhaps a funnel cake booth.
Such light concessions would be allowed at an Inner Harbor park under legislation introduced Monday by Councilman Eric Costello.
Costello said he submitted the measure to open Rash Field to concessions at the request of the nonprofit Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore, which oversees maintenance and improvements of the Inner Harbor.
The partnership is planning a $5 million renovation of the park, to begin in fall 2017, to encourage more use of the concrete-bound sand pit and field.
Costello said a previous administration entered into an agreement to prohibit vending in the Inner Harbor. If his bill passes the City Council and is signed by the mayor, it would be put to voters in November.
The legislation must pass by August to be put on the ballot.
