Infant, woman hospitalized Wednesday after Northeast Baltimore house fire

A woman and her infant grandson were rescued Wednesday afternoon from a home burning in the 1900 block of E. North Ave.

A fire department spokeswoman said the infant and woman suffered burns and were hospitalized in serious condition.

Firefighters were called shortly before 2 p.m. to the house fire in Northeast Baltimore just south of Clifton Park. They shut down North Avenue while working to put out the fire.

Truck 5 and Engine 6 responded to a fire at a two-story rowhouse at 1927 E. North Ave. around 2 p.m. A neighbor said one resident who lived upstairs was taken to the hospital.
