A 23-year-old man in West Baltimore was the city's 338th homicide victim of the year Saturday.

A 23-year-old man in West Baltimore was the city's 338th homicide victim of the year, police said Saturday.

Officers were called to the 800 block of West Lexington Street in the Poppleton neighborhood for a report of a shooting, and they found the man with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, who police did not identify, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The year 2015 has been Baltimore's second-deadliest on record, after 1993, when there were 353 killings but also about 100,000 more residents.
