Two families were displaced in separate house fires in Baltimore on Monday, the Fire Department said.
In the first, just after 11 a.m. at 1505 Hazel St. in Curtis Bay, firefighters arrived to find heavy fire showing from the second floor and roof of the house, officials said. The fire caused the roof over the rear of the house to collapse, and firefighters battled the blaze from outside of the home for about 40 minutes until it was extinguished.
About an hour and 20 minutes later, firefighters were dispatched to 1948 Ridgehill Ave. in Mondawmin, where flames were raging from the first and second floor of the home. They entered and found heavy fire throughout the building, and they put it out in about 20 minutes, officials said.
No citizens or firefighters were injured in either fire. Neighborhood services were called to both scenes to help the displaced families find temporary shelter.
The causes of the fires are under investigation.
