Five families were displaced after a four-alarm blaze in Curtis Bay Friday night drew dozens of firefighters, a department spokesman said.
Firefighters were called at about 5:30 p.m. to the 4200 block of Grace Court, where they found heavy fire coming through the roof, said fire spokesman Samuel Johnson, Jr. Firefighters tried to contain the blaze, but flames quickly spread to additional dwellings, he said.
"We know there was about 8 to 10 homes affected by the fire," he said.
One firefighter suffered a minor injury and was taken to a local hospital, he said. The firefighter was later released.
Between 50 and 75 firefighters responded to the large blaze, he said.
On Saturday, city firefighters were called at 2:23 p.m. to the 2400 block of Westport Street in Westport.
The responding units found flames coming from the second floor and conducted a search, but Johnson said all occupants made it out safely.
One civilian suffered minor injuries, he said. One family was displaced as a result of the blaze.
The cause of both fires remain under investigation.
