A Baltimore firefighter was injured Saturday evening helping tackle a fire at a vacant house in the Northeastern part of the city.

The fire, in the 1600 block of Montpelier Street in the Coldstream Homestead Montebello neighborhood, was reported about 6 p.m. and quickly brought under control, Fire Department spokeswoman Blair Skinner said.

The firefighter suffered minor injures but was taken to the hospital as a precaution, Skinner said. She did not have details about the nature of the injuries.
