The Baltimore Fire Department on Thursday identified a 58-year-old man who died in a blaze over the weekend.
Fire officials said Robert Morris died of thermal burns and smoke inhalation Sunday following an early-morning fire Saturday at 1352 of Cedarcroft Road in Northeast Baltimore.
Upon arriving to the scene, firefighters found heavy flames and smoke coming from the basement of the two-story brick home. Firefighters found Morris during a search of the home, and firefighters administered CPR at the scene.
Morris was taken to an area hospital and died on Sunday.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, fire officials said.
Family for Morris could not be reached for comment Thursday.
His death marks the fifth fire fatality this year.
