One person was hospitalized after an apartment fire early Wednesday in Sandtown-Winchester, Baltimore fire officials said.
Crews responded to the 1600 block of Calhoun Street at 4 a.m. for a reported fire and found smoke coming from the third floor of an apartment building, according to department spokesman Samuel Johnson.
One person was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries and no additional residents were displaced, Johnson said.
Smoke spread throughout the floor, but fire crews contained the fire to one apartment, Johnson said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
