2 firefighters hurt in Baltimore Highlands blaze

Two firefighters were injured while fighting a blaze Sunday night in the Baltimore Highlands neighborhood, city officials said.

Their conditions were not immediately released, but the firefighters were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Crews responded at 10:30 p.m. to the burning row home in the 3600 block of E. Lombard St., Fire Department spokesman Samuel Johnson said.

Initially, people were reported to be trapped inside, but after a search, responders determined that the home was empty, he said.

The fire was taken under control at 11:15 p.m., and the cause is under investigation, Johnson said.
