A man was hospitalized after a fire broke out at an East Baltimore home early Tuesday morning, a fire department spokesman said.
Firefighters were called at 4:49 a.m. to the one-alarm blaze at 537 N. Patterson Park Ave. in the McElderry Park neighborhood and placed the fire under control at 5:08 a.m., said spokesman Samuel Johnson, Jr. He said the victim was taken to an area hospital but his condition was unknown late Tuesday morning.
No firefighters were injured. Johnson said he did not know if additional residents lived at the home.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
