A 44-year-old man was killed Sunday morning in a crash in the Union Square neighborhood, Baltimore police said.
Ricardo Cuoto of Odenton was traveling east in the 1300 block of Hollins St. where police believe he lost control of his minivan and crashed into a parked vehicle, which then caused four more vehicles to be struck. Cuoto's 2001 Chrysler Town & Country came to a rest in the middle of the street.
None of the other vehicles were occupied, police said, and no one else was injured.
Police arrived at the scene at 11 a.m. Cuoto was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he died.
Investigators believe speed played a factor and Cuoto was not wearing a seatbelt, police said. An autopsy will be conducted to determine if alcohol or drugs contributed.
