A two-mile stretch of Falls Road will close next week while crews remove a car and trash bins that washed into the Jones Falls.
A rainstorm July 30 flooded the area and washed downstream the debris. The city's drift catchers blocked the debris from washing further. A crane is needed to haul out the debris.
The Department of Public Works announced the road will close 4 a.m. Monday from Clipper Mill Road south past the 29th Street bridge. Traffic will be detoured and the work is expected to take about a week.
