Baltimore police confirmed Saturday that a 51-year-old woman injured in a triple shooting last month — which touched off a manhunt for one of the suspects — has died, though the circumstances were not immediately clear.
Michelle Hitchens, 51, was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead at about 2:30 p.m., said Det. Angela Carter-Watson, a police spokeswoman.
Hitchens had been shot in the arm on June 27 in the 3400 block of Elmora Ave., and her injuries at the time were deemed not life-threatening. Her death Friday has been labeled "questionable" as homicide detectives investigate and await the findings of an autopsy, Carter-Watson said.
The Elmora shooting left 24-year-old Cierra Williams critically injured and killed 20-year-old Gennie Shird. Police say that a group of women were in a dispute with Tierra Fallin, who left and returned with two men and told them to "do what y'all do." The men then fired on the porch.
Police say one of those men was Darryl Martin Anderson, who was already being sought in a 2012 murder in Parkville and was dubbed "public enemy number one" by city police. He was arrested July 17 in Birmingham, Ala.
