A Pennsylvania man accused of stabbing a homeless man 70 times is being held in Baltimore City Detention Center after city police arrested the fugitive Thursday.
Bucks County prosecutors charged Dale Wakefield, of Doylestown, Pa., with attempted murder of George Mohr, a 71-year-old veteran who was found unresponsive and bleeding profusely early Wednesday, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Wakefield had been celebrating his 21st birthday in the southeastern Pennsylvania town when called his sister and told her he had stabbed a man, she told police, according to the Inquirer.
He was traced to Baltimore, where city police arrested him about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, police spokesman Det. Jeremy Silbert said.
Wakefield is being held in Baltimore pending a hearing scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Monday, according to court records.
