A fire broke out at a downtown Burger King kitchen, closing a portion of St. Paul Street Friday afternoon, the Baltimore fire department said.

No injuries were reported, the department said on Twitter. The restaurant was evacuated.

The fire broke out in the rear of a six story building building at Fayette and St. Paul streets, creating a heavy cloud of smoke in the area.

The cause is under investigation.

St. Paul at Lexington Street was shut down, and the fire department warned motorists of continued road closures downtown.
