Baltimore woman contends officer shot her dog unnecessarily

A Baltimore pet owner is disputing a police officer's account that he shot and killed her dog because it bit him.

Apryl Santiago-Harvey told WJZ a Baltimore Police officer came to her home on Thursday. She says she asked him to stay outside her front fence while she put her dog, Titan, away from the back yard and inside.

She said that when she went into her home, the officer started talking to the dog and it jumped over a fence.

Police say the officer fatally shot the animal because it bit him. But Santiago contends her dog didn't bite. She says the officer didn't appear to be bloodied.

Police haven't commented on the officer's condition.

Santiago says she wants to see body-worn camera video from the incident.
