A 32-year-old man was fatally shot Saturday night in East Baltimore, police said.
The shooting was reported around 7:15 p.m., in the 1200 block of N. Decker Ave. in the Berea neighborhood. Police said the victim had been standing in the block when he was approached by an unknown suspect who said something to the victim and then shot him in the head "without warning."
Police said detectives have "reason to believe this was an isolated incident and that the victim was the intended target," but did not reveal details.
On Sunday, police identified the victim as Kelavin Weaver, 32, of the 500 block of N. Decker St. Homicide detectives are investigating, and anyone with information may call 410-396-2100.
This year, 270 people have been killed in Baltimore, compared with 177 at this time last year — an increase of more than 50 percent.
