Police identify woman killed in Sharp-Leadenhall crash

Police identified the 63-year-old woman who was killed in a car crash in Sharp-Leadenhall Tuesday as Helen Davis of Harlem Park.

Davis, of the 500 block of N. Fremont Ave., was a nearly 30-year veteran of The Baltimore Sun, newspaper spokeswoman Renee Mutchnik said.

"Helen was a valued employee with almost 30 years of service at The Baltimore Sun," Mutchnik said in a statement. "We send our prayers and condolences to her family."

Davis was driving west at about 3:35 p.m. in the 100 block of W. Ostend St., when her 2005 Pontiac Vibe veered over the center line and hit an oncoming Chevy Silverado, police said. The Silverado's driver was not injured.
