Cherry Hill drug dealer sentenced to 11 years

A longtime heroin and crack-dealing member of a Cherry Hill based gang was sentenced to 11 years in U.S. District Court on Friday, federal prosecutors said.

Robert Sanders, aka "Man," 28, of Baltimore, sold drugs out of an apartment located on Round Road in Cherry Hill and also committed several robberies, the U.S. attorney's office said in a statement Friday.

Officials said Sanders was associated with the Coppin Court gang, also known as the Hillside gang, rivals of another gang called Up Da Hill. Authorities said on Feb. 5, 2003 he shot a member of the Up Da Hill group, in the 2800 block of Winwood Court in Cherry Hill.

Authorities had alleged that since he began dealing drugs in at least 2003, Sanders sold between one and three kilograms of heroin, and between 280 and 840 grams of crack.

His 11-year sentenced will be followed by five years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute drugs, officials said.
