A firefighter was injured battling a house fire in Northeast Baltimore Monday morning.
The firefighter was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening burns suffered while attempting to extinguish the blaze in the 2800 block of Bayonne Ave., said Baltimore Fire Spokesman Chief Roman Clark.
The home’s seven occupants escaped unharmed, he said.
“Cold presents a challenge,” Clark said. “When we throw water, we get icy conditions, and it can make it hard for firefighters when we’re trying to enter a building and make rescues.”
